I just finished watching tonight's episode (yes I do manage to get them early) and it was amazingly good. So please don't miss it (or set your tivo). The ep is called "The Boogeyman" and involves the BAU team travelling to a small town in Texas to investigate the killings of some local children. Meanwhile Ellie struggles in coming to grips after being shot.

Last episode of Criminal Minds kick some serious tail in the ratings game. CM was the third best show on all of Wednesday. And that is counting the monstrous "Lost" and the MLB playoffs. So who cares about ratings? Well you should because as long as they stay high the show will continue to run!


This week

Next episode (October 17th...special date and time) will have the team chasing down a vigilante serial killer. The episode is called A Real Rain and is a re-run. But then the night after (Wednesday the 18th) we will have a fresh episode Aftermath in which the BAU team tracks a serial rapist. I've seen this episode and it is AMAZINGLY GOOD. Don't miss it!


Tonight's Epsiode

The episode tonight is called The Perfect Storm in which Gideon and the team try to track a murderous duo working together. It looks to be a great one!

The ratings for last episode were AMAZING!!! Criminal Minds has finally reached the position it should be on Wednesdays. The show got a 10.7/16 rating which put CM at #1 for all of Wednesday! This is WONDERFUL news for the future of the show! If this keeps up we having nothing to worry about.

Criminal Minds is back for an all new season!
Sunday Sep 17
The season premiere will be on Wednesday, September 20th, 2006 on CBS! So get ready because this episode will rock you. I've seen an advanced copy already and it is quite good. CBS has added a few new writers and they are absolute pros. So look for this season to really be a breakout.

The episode is entitled "Fisher King, Part II" and will continue right where the season finale left off.

In other big news, Criminal Minds Season 1 DVD will be released on September 19th. Look for a link here for a special discount.

In show related news, Canada has just announced that Criminal Minds is there #1 new tv show! It is nice to see that other countries are enjoying CM as much as we are here in the states.

I truly hoped you watched the season finale of CM. It was stellar. I got it on TIVO so I can re-watch it over the summer.

Speaking of the summer re-runs, the show WILL BE BACK IN FALL with fresh episodes. We are sticking in the same time slot as well. As for the summer, there will be regularly schedule re-runs from the first season.

The show has been picked up!

About 2 months early, CBS has announced the shows that will live to see another season. CM was on that list! There was much speculation that despite the show's strong performance, the CSI shows were too much competition and that it wouldn't be renewed.

So congratulations to the cast and the writers and CBS for that matter. This means were are at least guaranteed 13 episodes starting next fall.

March 8th, "The Tribe" will air. In this episode the team looks into the murders of 5 college studetnts who were all executed in the same fashion an ancient native american tribe used to use.

On February 15th, the team will be working to save Elle and other passengers on a train that is taken hostage by a crazy passenger. Gideon will work his incredibly mind games no doubt. This of course is a RE-RUN from Nov. 23. Episode is called "Derailed".

The show has continued its freshman ratings success and the network is very confident in the longterm success of the show. Last episode put the show at its highest position EVER against the heavy-hitter "Lost". Here's to a season 2!

CBS makin' moves

CBS has decided to pull "Threshold" and to put Criminal Minds in the slot from now on. CBS hasn't made the final decision to cancel Threshold, but they said with the new midseason shows coming that the show is likely finished. Good riddance! I'll keep you posted on what this means for CM's timeslot changes. We might be seeing another move come Dec/January. Fingers crossed that we can finally get a good spot and stick there! It has hard to keep an audience when you keep moving times.

If you have seen the first episode, don't bother watching this week...RIGHT! The network is re-airing the pilot episode so be sure to catch that this week. I suspect the ratings will take a nosedive (as to be expected); however, I will still watch of course.

If you scroll down the page you will see where I predicted a full season pickup...well it is HERE. CBS has just issued a release saying that the strong performance of the show warrants another 15 episodes this time around and most likely at least 13 for next season. Yeah, well I guess It wasn't all that hard to predict considering the show keeps getting better and better. I wish CBS would start to advertise the show more though. I think they could easily get the show as big as "Lost" with some publicity.

This is amazing. The last episode had more viewers than any other show! This is a pretty sizable spike in viewers, and I don't know what is responsible. Perhaps people finally took the plunge and listened to all of their friends (like me) beating them over the head with the show. Regardless, every key demographic was won. CBS must be in heaven...just like me! :)

The ratings for the last episode came in at a whopping 12.9 MILLION! That is so very impressive. You smell that? *sniff* *sniff* It must be a full season pickup.
